I can´t believe I have only been here in Argentina for 3 days. It feels like I have been here much longer than that. Like I said before, it just feels normal. I love being with people from Latin America! Things are still great with the family I am living with. They are amazing.
Today we went to a comedor(something like a soup kitchen) where we made and served lunch to families who don´t have enough money to buy food. It is a place where they can come and receive a free meal everyday. The people who run the comedor are not Christians, so they didn´t quite understand why we would come from the states and serve other people. It was something strange to them, but a great testimony and a great opportunity to share Christ with them. We also visited a public hospital where we visited different people in the hospital and prayed for them, and shared with them about Christ. It was neat to see how open everyone was to hear about Christ, especially being in a place where they felt like they had no hope, because they were sick. I had the opportunity to pray with a 98 year old woman. She couldn´t believe that I came from the states to visit her. She started to cry, because she said not even her own son visits her. I made me cry, to think that she doens´t have very many people visiting her.
Tomorrow we are going to visit one of the prisons here. I think it is the international women´s prison. Please pray that we will have opportunities to share with the women about Christ. Even though they are in prison, they can be forgiven for what they have done, and have hope!
I hope to write more tomorrow.
I am loving Argentina more and more every day!

Reminder of why I love Latin America
It is crazy to think that I have only been here for one day, it feels so normal and natural. I love how the family I am staying with have already made me feel a part of their family. I love Spanish and hugs and besitos (kisses). I love the warmth of the culture and how inviting they are to everyone. I love how the kids are little crazy, but that is organized! I just love being here!
I am very excited for the rest of the team to come and be here, but it is nice to have a little bit of time to get to know the people and set up before the team arrives.
I miss you all and I will write more later when I have some more time!
Un Abrazo (hug),
Steph

A New Place!!
My bags are pretty much all packed and I am going to Argentina tomorrow!! For long time I have wanted to go to Argentina. It has been a country on my heart and I never knew why! God always opened doors to other countries, namely being Guatemala, and I am forever grateful for the experiences I have had in life leading up to right now.
Now...all the doors opened and I have an opportunity to go to Argentina for 2 weeks! I have the privilage of helping lead a group of amazing high school students while we partner with our sister church in Argentina (La Puerta Abierta), and for some of them this is their first first missions trip!!
I find it an honor to come along side others when they experience something new. I think that is why I have such a joy leading short-term missions trips and seeing people's faces and hearing all that God is doing in them while they are there.
Please pray for us as a team. Pray that the last little bit of deatils will come together this week. I have the opportunity to go 4 days early with two of the students! Pray for our funds as a team. We are still in need of raising some more support. God is a BIG God and I have seen Him time after time provide. I know this isn't anything too big for Him. Pray for our health. We will be leaving 110 degree weather and going to WINTER!! It will be in the 60's-50's during the day, but it is a "wet" cold so it will feel colder! Also, pray for our ministry. I know there will be times we will stretched.
I love you guys and will post as often as I can!
